Intensive Therapy

Our Intensive Therapy Program provides a concentrated block of AAC intervention designed to help participants make meaningful progress towards their communication goals.

Rather than attending weekly sessions, participants complete multiple therapy sessions each week over a short period, typically during the school holidays. This approach provides increased opportunities for practice, learning and skill development.

Intensive therapy may focus on:

  • Learning a new AAC system

  • Developing confidence using a communication device

  • Building language and communication through AAC

  • Literacy instruction using alternative pencils

  • Eye gaze, switch or alternative access training

  • Programming and personalising AAC systems

  • Communication partner training for families, schools and support teams

  • Preparing for transitions such as starting school or moving to a new communication system

Every intensive program is individually designed around the participant's goals and includes collaboration with families and support teams to maximise carryover into everyday environments.

Our Intensive Therapy Programs are available during selected school holiday periods for both existing and new clients.
